Shoot Dairy- Day 4

Today we filmed two scenes. The first one was near a lane, we used a long shot and mid shot of the character who is playing B.O.B. I filmed it from having a point of view shot, a long shot which then after pans and the last shot we did was. a handheld, over the shoulder shot. We show the character playing B.O.B walking out of a lane, walking over to see someone, receiving a package in the bag and walking away again. We used this as we thought that the audience would be intrigued about what was in the bag.
The second scene we did was outdoors, the narrative of this shot shows drug dealing. We film a close up of the character playing B.O.B face, we had an extreme closeup of the drug exchange, i filmed a mid-shot of B.O.B's character who is waiting against a wall, we used a panning shot when the artist walked down the stairs and a long shot to show the artist in his environment.

Shoot Dairy -Day 3

On our third location shoot we used the resources outside of college again the spot we chose was a brick wall with a crack going through it. We decided to use this because we felt like this gave more of an urban look which created more realism for the audience. We used three different shots; the first one was a mid shot of the artist, the second was a close-up of the artist and the third shot we used was tilt-up, close-up of the artist, We used the tilt-up close-up as we realised that this was used in real media conventions of the Hip-hop and Grime genre.

Shoot Dairy- Day 2

Today Waqar and I filmed Lakeem who is playing the character of Giggs. We have taken him to a music studio and filmed him. The purpose of this is to show him in the studio making the song, so the audience is aware of this. This is used a lot in music videos from both the genres of Hip-Hop and Grime. We have recorded him coming into the studio meeting his producer, we have show this from two point of views; one is him opening a door watching him enter the studio, open another door and have a hand shake with his producer, this a long shot which changes into a mid-shot when the character of Giggs; Lakeem walks closer towards the camera, the camera is still throughout . The other point of view is in the studio room with his producer and shows it from another angle. This shot only shows him opening a door and a handshake with his producer, this is a mid shot. We also have a close up on the 'recording' sign, which is still. It shows the light on and the light turning off, which we intend to use at the start and end of the video. We have filmed him continuously throughout the song which we are then editing and cutting out. We have also tried two different shots of this one is a closeup of lakeem through another recording booth which shows him rapping and also showing body movement from Lakeem. We have also recorded an other part in which it shows the producer and the artist. For the mise en scene we have used dark lighting in the producers booth and more light in the artists booth because it makes the artist stand out more. We have also used baggy jeans, hoodie, hat (new era).

Shoot Dairy- Day 1

In our first shoot the location was in Oldbury Court Park. We arranged for a 4x4 Range Rover to be used in the video. We used this as this is commanly used in Hip-hop and Grime videos. This type car will make the artist seem more dominating and wealthy. We filmed a range of long, panning and tracking shots. The costume we used a red jacket and red hat, we used this to challenge convention which are used in real media texts.

Clothing

From looking at real media text I have acknowledged that the types of clothing that are worn by Hip-hop and Grime artists are usually dull colours but I want to challenge real media that is why I wanted to add a bright red colour.
